    April 17, 2022

Any Belarusian can join the Movement and choose from numerous options to resist the war and the Belarus regime. Read the Manifest.

Here is an overview of the Movement for the week of April 11-17.

    Resistance

    • Partisans of the “Busly Laciac” group (“Storks Flying”) successfully carried out actions in the Smolensk and Bryansk regions (Russian Federation), destroying several SCB relay cabinets and alarm devices, thereby interfering with the railway transportation of the Russian troops.
    • The fighters of the Belarus Kalinouski Battalion have been heroically defending Ukraine, and the recruits have been undergoing intensive special training.
    • The Mothers' Union called on all women to unite together and say the Easter Prayer for Peace.

    Support for Ukrainians and Belarusians

    • Belarusian women help women who faced sexual violence during the war and raise funds for their rehabilitation. In just one week, more than 35 thousand euros were raised.
    • The working group of the OST, National Anti-Crisis Management, and Center of Belarusian Solidarity have achieved the adoption of a law on the simplified legalization of Belarusians in Poland. Now they will be able to obtain a residence permit on humanitarian grounds for three years.
    • The BYSOL Foundation sent four pickup trucks for the defense of Ukraine and also purchased protective tactical glasses for fighters and medicines.
    • The Dialog Foundation has opened a house for Ukrainian refugees in Białystok, where several women with children have already moved recently. A Country to Live In Foundation has also opened a free shelter in Warsaw.
    • Belarusians, together with Ukrainians, have created a website of help for those who fled the war. Information on support initiatives, legalization in EU countries, and employment/training is constantly updated and supplemented.
    • Belarusians and Ukrainians of Germany held a rally of solidarity with Ukraine in front of the Russian Embassy in Bonn. Another rally at the Russian Embassy took place in Tel Aviv. Belarusians of Poland and England also held several rallies this week.

    Information front

    • The 7th issue of the Vestnik project is out. It's dedicated to answers to the most common questions about the war in Ukraine.
    • Belarusian priest Aliaksandr Kukhta spoke about his work as a volunteer on the Ukrainian-Polish border.
    • Christians oppose the war; one of them is the Belarusian pastor Taras Telkovsky. On his Facebook page, he wrote about why it's not worth keeping silent right now.
