“Belarusian volunteers in Ukraine are fighting for the independence of both Ukraine and Belarus. They made a conscious choice to take responsibility for the future and risk their lives daily. They are true people of free Belarus and they are defending their home.
Dzmitry Apanasovich died heroically in the battle near Kyiv. I wish to convey my condolences to his family. It hurts me every time we lose a Belarusian on our way to freedom. I wish we did not have to pay such a high price for a free and democratic Belarus.
Yesterday, the Kastus Kalinouski battalion volunteers took an oath to the people. Dzmitry died defending his motherland, for which he would stop at nothing.
This is a big loss for the whole of Belarus, and his name will forever remain in the history of our country. Like the names of all the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our people”.
