  • Freedom Day Concert in Vilnius

    March 24, 2022

Time and date: March 25, 18:30.

Venue: Vilnius City Hall, Didžioji g. 31.

The Belarusian Council for Culture, Vilnius City Hall, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office and Embassy of Poland in Lithuania, under the patronage of the US Embassy in Belarus, present a concert dedicated to the defenders of Ukraine.

The event is timed to Freedom Day, the major holiday for Belarusians around the world. On March 25, 1918, the Belarusian People's Republic was proclaimed. It was the first Belarusian national state, with the white-red-white flag and the Pahonia emblem as its official symbols.

Freedom Day in 2022 clashes with the ongoing occupation, crackdown in Belarus, and the war in Ukraine. This event is held within the #BelaruswithUkraine campaign and manifests solidarity, support and prayer for those who are now defending the Ukrainian lands.

The concert will feature sacred folk songs and warriors' marches of the geographical and historical quadrangle Belarus-Lithuania-Poland-Ukraine to show that our countries stand united in the face of the common enemy.

Famous musicians and performers from Lithuania, Belarus, and Ukraine will take part in the concert:

    • UNIA International Men's Choir (artistic director Pavel Gontsa) LT, BY, UA.
    • Marharyta Liauchuk (soprano) BY.
    • Maіna Valenis (soprano) UA.
    • Dasha Maroz (piano) BY.
