    Preparation for negotiations and pressure on the regime

    – Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya made a call with the Coordination Council, where she discussed the terms of the negotiations, possible scenarios for them, and the creation of a negotiating group.

    – Advisor to Ms. Tsikhanouskaya Franak Viačorka told about the formats and scenarios of the negotiations. France, Germany, Switzerland, and Scandinavian countries can be intermediaries. The OSCE offers a platform for negotiations.

    – The leader of democratic Belarus made a call with the united strike movement (Hrodna Azot, Naftan, Belarusian Steel Works). The main task of the movement is to prepare a national strike.

    – Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya called on Global Trade Unions to protect workers in Belarus. Also, international trade unions are planning a campaign to put additional pressure on organizations and companies that cooperate with state-owned enterprises.

    – Ms. Tsikhanouskaya met with Spanish Foreign Minister Arancha González Laya. Spain supports the Belarusian people both in the EU and in international structures and will support the 4th package of sanctions. At the meeting with the minister, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya discussed how to help the Belarusians now and after the changes.

    – The leader of democratic Belarus suggested Norway and Estonia initiate new hearings on Belarus in the UN Security Council.

    – Representative on Foreign Affairs of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya Valery Kavaleuski discussed with the European Commission the implementation of EU technical assistance for Belarus, as well as the Comprehensive Macro-Assistance Plan for Belarus in the transition period and after the elections

    – Ms. Tsikhanouskaya met online with the ambassadors of 10 northern countries, discussed the plan for overcoming the crisis in Belarus, and offered to hold preliminary consultations on the organization of negotiations, as well as ways to put pressure on the regime.

    – The Office made a call with ByPol, during which they discussed the work of the Situation Analytical Center, the latest events in Belarus, as well as the tactics of safe protests and the mood within the law enforcement and security forces of the regime. The leader of democratic Belarus also had calls with Belarusian students and doctors.

    – A session of the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly is scheduled for April 19-20, at which Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will lead the Belarusian delegation. Valery Kavaleuski  took part in a discussion on the situation in Belarus of MEPs in preparation for the session.

    – OSCE / ODIHR appealed to the Lukashenka regime and offered to monitor Belarusian courts and consultations on Belarusian legislation, which is used for repressions against opponents. OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Ann Linde called on Minsk to accept the OSCE ODIHR's proposal, release political prisoners and start a dialogue.

    Support and mutual assistance

    – Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya answered questions from Belarusians in a stream on her channel. She stated that the struggle continues, as does the pressure on the regime and preparations for negotiations. The leader of democratic Belarus declared that her goal is to hold new free elections, in which she does not plan to participate.

    – Representative on Foreign Affairs Valery Kavaleuski met online with volunteers of the Office and talked about the work of the international team, the results of international trips, and relations with international partners.

    – Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's representative on education Olga Shparaga and her team made a preliminary analysis of the new Education Code.

    – Representative for constitutional reform, Anatoli Liabedzka, met with the French Ambassador to Belarus Nicolas De Bouillane De Lacoste.

    – Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's representative on education Olga Shparaga and her teams have made an overview of the academic assistance that Belarusian students and teachers can apply for in Germany.
