Olga Shparaga: “Repressions against the academic and scientific community continue in Belarus. Since November 17, the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has not renewed seven employees' contracts. All of them protested against the lawlessness, served their sentence, or supported arrested colleagues. Today, five more scientists announced their resignation in solidarity: Doctor of Sciences in History Uladzimir Tuhai and Candidates of Historical Sciences Andrei Matsuk, Vadzim Aniperkau, Andrei Unuchak, and Vasil Varonin. I express my support to these people and admire the solidarity of their colleagues.
Our team searches for and creates programs of assistance for professionals. A funding program is available for scientists and teachers to develop their own online courses and conduct them in one of the European educational institutions. This will allow continuing work that does not depend on any ideologues.
