Coordination Council is a unified representative body of Belarusian democratic society. The Council operates under the fundamental principles of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.
The council was initiated in August 2020 by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
Aims of the Council:
- Organizing the process of overcoming the political crisis and ensure social cohesion;
- Protection of the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Belarus.
Coordination Council does not:
- Aim to seize power through unconstitutional means;
- Call for organization or preparation of actions that violate public order.
Since the establishment of the Council, members of its Presidium, core members and members of an expanded assembly have faced massive repressions from the side of Belarusian authorities. The Coordination Council currently operates remotely from Minsk, Vilnius and Warsaw.
